No. ESI Election/2026 To All the members of the Entomological Society of India Sub: Nomination for election of council of office bearers and members of the Executive Council 2026 Dear Colleague, Duly seconded proposals are invited for the following office bearers of the Society falling vacant at the end of the current term:
The proposal should reach the Returning officer Dr Babita Yadav, Division of Entomology, IARI New Delhi-110012 on or before 25th March 2026. The nomination can be sent by email to esielection2026@gmail.com to reach on or before Midnight 12:00 PM of 25th March 2026. The proposal received after that day and time will not be eligible. The consent of the members whose names are proposed and seconded for election may also be obtained and sent along with the proposals via email: esielection2026@gmail.com, failing which the proposal will become invalid.
Eligibility for the election of the office bearers of the ESI: All the office bearers shall be elected for a period of three years except in the case of the Chief Editor, whose period of office will be decided by the EC. All shall be eligible for reelection. Any vacancy occurring within the period of three years will be treated as an interim vacancy. These vacancies will be filled by nomination with approval of EC. President: A senior member of high academic repute and FESI for the last 10 years. Vice-President: A senior member of high academic repute and FESI for the last 10 years. General Secretary: FESI for the last 5 years
For the position for which the nominations are not received, the EC will have the power to nominate. The candidates who filed their nomination but not willing to contest can withdraw their nomination by email/ hard copy on or before 31st March, 2026 by 5 pm. Election process will be mainly online as practiced in similar Societies. Supplementary hard copy voting is also available simultaneously for which the following procedure is to be followed. Collect ballot paper in person from the ESI office during working hours. Follow the instructions given therein and deposit the ballot in the designated box kept in the office of the ESI. Members who have not registered online in the entosocindia.org are urged to register immediately. Any difficulty in the same may be communicated via email: entosocindia@gmail.com. The final list of eligible contesting candidates along with voting schedules will be uploaded on 31st March on the society website: entosocindia.org Kindly visit our society website regularly for updates regarding election process.
